Our 2017 Sparkling Blanc de Blancs is made by Michael Cruse, who has been deftly crafting incredible Sparkling Wines in the traditional method under his highly allocated Ultramarine label. He was Winemaker of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle in 2016. Making a world class sparkling wine is somewhat of a lost art, in that many of the large French and California corporate makers have devolved to an average product that is mass produced and tastes as much. To us it is worth the investment to do it right, and we hope you will find consuming these wines equally rewarding and satisfying.

Behind the label

Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this Estate sparkling has hints of wet stone, Asian pear, yellow apple and a lean freshness on the palate. With bright and refreshing acidity, this sparkling made in the traditional method shows a chiseled minerality from the calcareous soils in this section of the vineyard. Our first Blanc de Blancs from the Pence Vineyards Estate is one for enjoyment both now and for years to come!
